Drug Enforcement Administration Temporarily Bans Substances Found in Bath Salts and Other Products
The DEA released a notification today stating that it is using emergency powers to ban three synthetic stimulants (Mephedrone , 3,4 methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV) and Methylone). These substances are found in bath salts branded as “Ivory Wave,” “Purple Wave,” “Vanilla Sky,” or “Bliss.” Under today’s notification the manufacture, distribution, sale and possession of these substances is illegal everywhere in the country. Furthermore, the DEA has classified these stimulants as “Schedule I” substances meaning related charges carry the heaviest penalties.
