Recycling Gone Wrong

The government is now recycling employees who have been fired due to poor performance:

Fired OSBI analyst hired to supervise program by state of Oklahoma

A former OSBI lab analyst who was fired for poor performance has been hired to serve as administrator of a state program that certifies and tests devices designed to prevent drunk drivers from starting vehicles.

According to the article she was  fired for:

Schultz was fired by the OSBI in June 2010 after a review of her case work revealed instances of sample contamination, handling errors and documentation mistakes, according to agency documents reviewed by The Oklahoman.

This just goes to show that the government could care less about “sample contamination, handling errors and documentation mistakes.” These errors that can lead an innocent person to be convicted.  Now this same person has been hired to another important department involving sensitive machines that must be properly calibrated to specification.  They have done this without any type of remedial action or training to rectify the performance issues.  Can we expect more compromised evidence in the future?
