The Court is closed, should I even hire an attorney right now?

In this new Covid-19 reality I have had a few clients recently ask, “[W]ith the court’s being closed, should I even hire an attorney right now?” My answer is a resounding YES! We unfortunately have no clear idea of when we are going to get out of this pandemic; however, I have yet to read a report that says this global shutdown will continue indefinitely. If it were, why are we all standing so far away from each other? We will get back to normal. Kids will return to school; Joe Exotic’s fifteen minutes of fame will end and the true reality is our Court’s and the criminal justice system is going to open back up. The charges are not going away.

With the courthouse closed and court dates being continued for weeks or even months, what is the hurry to hire counsel? The answer, We’re not closed! The entire staff of The McShane Frim are working everyday for our clients. Investigation is essential to every case. Witness interviews are still being completed. Letter’s are being sent demanding preservation of evidence. Motions are being filed. Memories fade, videos get discarded, this is potential evidence that could set you free! DO NOT sit back and hope for the best, fight!

At The McShane Firm we have years of experience aggressively fighting criminal charges throughout the Commonwealth. That includes all of our attorneys as well as our support staff. Call me today and begin your fight.
