Capt. John Wilcyznski, with the Philadelphia Police Department’s accident investigation division (AID) says there will also be increased DUI checkpoints on the roads this weekend. Drivers should expect delays and traffic. The sobriety checkpoints will be held between July 3-July 5.
There will also be a number of roving patrols through out the county, especially from Friday evening through Monday morning. Boaters on the Delaware river should also be aware that there will be an increased police presence looking for drunk boaters. (See the penalties for Boating under the influence- BUI)
